The AirBoss Evolution Plus is NIOSH and NFPA 1981, 2002 Edition approved. On Feb. 25th, 2004 the AirBoss Evolution Plus was NIOSH CBRN approved. The NIOSH CBRN standard is the world's most stringent certification for SCBA's. In addition to providing the highest level of protection for non-CBRN applications, such as fire and hazmat response, Draeger's enhanced second stage regulator or lung demand valve (LDV) is designed to protect the user from a variety of CBRN threats including liquid chemical warfare agents, biological agents and alpha and beta particles.
