The HazVac Air Sampler has been developed and for obtaining safe grab samples of toxic gases and vapors at chemical spillages and incidents. Based on the popular Apex pump, the HazVac unit is a watertight and airtight sampling system for obtaining gases and vapors in hazardous environments with zero contact between the sample and the pump.
The unit is set up for ease of operation with activation by a single external push button that has an indicator light. Once activated, the pump will remove air from the hermetically sealed case, drawing a sample into the gas bag. The pump can be set to sample for a set time prior to operation. The sampling case is fully dust, gas and water tight and is constructed from inert resin material enabling the unit to be decontaminated using a shower, a hose line or by physical wipe down. Operation of the system can be adjusted to suit the required sampling situation with a variable pump flow, variable timer and optional extendable inert PTFE sample line. The sample is taken into a standard Tedlar bag (1 3 liter bag supplied). The unit operates from a pack of 4 x AA dry cell batteries with no charging requirement. Unlike other vacuum samplers, which use external pumps, the HazVac offers an internal pump which means it does not come into contact with the vapor or toxin on site.
