TraceAir Badges from Assay Technologies
TraceAir organic vapor monitoring badges, originally developed by DuPont, are simple, economical diffusion devices for determining concentrations of organic contaminants in the workplace. Extensive laboratory testing has proven that TraceAir is a reliable sampling method exceeding NIOSH and OSHA accuracy requirement.
Dual Sampling Rates - The TraceAir-1 badge offers the only design with dual sampling rates. Hygienists can sample with the TraceAir-1 badge at 35-50 cc/min with one cover removed or 70-100 cc/min with both covers removed, depending on the compound being sampled. This unique feature enables the user to obtain an increased level of sensitivity when needed and shortens sampling duration for indoor air quality surveys.
Versatile Sampling Application Range - TraceAir offers the hygienist the most versatile application range from 15 minutes short term exposure limits (STEL), eight hour time weighted average (TWA) and up to 16 hour sampling periods, depending upon concentrations.
Free Control/DE Study Strip Provided - Assay Technologies includes an additional charcoal strip at no extra charge in each five-pack of badges. The additional strip may be used for a DE study or as a control blank.

Patented Diffuser Design Provides Advanced Performance - Unlike membrane design badges, the diffuser does not increase response time or risk becoming clogged by aerosols or particulate matter.
The TraceAir-1 badge is ideal for low concentrations and short term sampling. This badge contains a 300mg high capacity coconut based charcoal strip, providing increased surface area for greater capacity than badges using petroleum based charcoal. This extends sampling periods and minimizes sample breakthrough.
The TraceAir-2 badge is ideal for unknown environments. They have increased sampling periods and a back up strip design. The TraceAir-2 badge design offers a second back-up charcoal strip to allow additional material to be sampled at 45% the rate of the first thereby extending the sampling period capacity. The TraceAir-2 badge contains two 300mg charcoal strips and has two times the sampling capacity of other currently available badges.
