Sure-Spot TDI Dosimeter Badges
Badge programs typically require a minimum of administrative and maintenance effort. Badges are individually sealed, numbered and dated and can be easily distributed from convenient locations around the facility.A new badge is issued to each employee at the beginning of each shift and simply disposed of if not stain develops. Each badge serves to record an individuals daily exposure. This contributes to a comprehensive worker history. A Dose Estimator (color wheel) is a convenient, pocket sized color comparator using color wheels and a viewing window to allow rapid color matching. It is simple to use and has the operating instructions printed on it. The dosimeter is held in place behind the dose estimator so that a window overlays the stained area on the dosimeter badge. The color wheel is rotated until the color segment matching the dosimeter stain in density is found. Each color segment carries a number which is noted and referred to a table on the face of the dose estimator giving does information for the badge. Exclusive isomer independent paper tape detection technology provides an assessment of the total isocyanate compounds such as TDI and PPDI. Sure-Spot TDI and PPDI badges are a complete passive system which uses the principle of controlled diffusion to provide very accurate results. Its low end threshold of sensitivity is also sufficient for approximating 8 hour TWA evaluations. In operation, a Scott Isocyanate Badge card is mounted in the reusable plastic holder. The main function of the holder is to control (slow) the diffusion of the gas to the upper control window thereby extending its range. The unit is activated then clipped to the collar for sampling in the breathing zone. If the specific isocyanate compound is present, a distinct stain develops in either the Control or Indicator windows or both, dependent on the concentration. At any time, the developed stain can be compared against known color standards and the dose in ppb hours, calculated. Specifications
