Remote Intelligent Sensor Isocyanate Fixed Detection System
A large, easy to read LCD on the RIS indicates gas concentration and features a "strobing" visual alarm that is triggered when a preset alarm level is exceeded. The LCD also shows self-diagnostic data such as unit readiness, alarm set level, battery current and charge voltage, percent of sampling tape remaining and fault situations. The RIS's modular internal design makes maintenance quick and easy. Many system faults can be readily identified using the unit's test mode. An internal terminal strip provides a connection for the eternal power supply, an audible alarm relay, and analog output. An internal card cage allows the unit to accept a number of optional upgrade plug in printed circuit cards for enhanced performance and capabilities. Typically, up to 8 hours of sampling data can be stored in the RIS's internal memory. This allows personnel to review data over the course of an entire workday to pinpoint when and where toxic gas concentrations occur. The unit calculates 8 hour and 15 minute PNA values and can be set to alarm at TWA and STEL values. A Memory and Printer option gives the RIS the capability to send its output to a printer on demand or on a regular, timed basis. This option enables the unit to store data for the last seven day sampling period. The printout will automatically include the 8 hour and 15 minute TWAs based on the last data available. By using the 4-20 mA output, it is possible to network RIS units into a multi point monitoring system, supervised by a central controller. This capability enables personnel to remotely monitor and control the RIS, providing instant access to gas monitoring information in all parts of a facility. How to Order an RISStep 1: Which gas do you wish to detect? Determine the instrument part number. Step 2: Order the required tape cassette. Tape cassettes are ordered separately. We recommend ordering cassettes through a blanket order. Each cassette lasts approximately 60 days. Cassettes should not be stored over 4 months in ambient conditions. Do not use cassettes beyond the end of life date marked on the case. Step 3: What power supply do you need? An AC power supply is required. Note: Each RIS comes equipped with a backup battery as standard. Step 4: What alarming needs do you have? The RIS provides only a visual indication of the reading. No audible alarm or siren is installed. Each unit can be equipped with an alarm module kit that can accommodate common visual and audible alarms for up to three instruments or an optional relay board may be ordered that provides up to three relay outputs per instrument for separate alarm annunciation devices.
