Sleuth Flame Ionization Detector
|
|
Gas leaks can have enormous financial and environmental implications so it is essential to be able to identify and analyse them quickly and accurately. The Sleuth FID is the most versatile and has sensitive ranges of lightweight flame ionization detectors (FIDs) available. The Sleuth is used for a wide variety of applications, from detecting leaks in gas distribution systems to monitoring emissions from landfill sites and industrial complexes. |
The Sleuth FID is internationally recognized as the most accurate device for detecting hydrocarbons. Light and extremely portable, it can detect methane, ethylene, ethane, natural gas, liquid petroleum gas (LPG) and other emissions down to 0.1 ppm - much lower than many of its competitors. This gives you the ability to identify the tiniest leaks before they become a problem.
Highly Sensitive - The Sleuth FID can detect hydrocarbons between 0.1 ppm and 10,000 ppm (up to 100,000 ppm with optional Range Extender). It does not respond to, not is it poisoned by carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and most other industrial and environmental gases, giving you confidence in your results.
Stable at Low Levels - Consistently accurate and stable, even at low levels, ensuring reliable performance.
Easy to Use - Probably the easiest FID to use. Particular care has been taken to make the analog scales easy to read and to simplify the calibration. In fact you will probably only need to calibrate the detector once a year (once a week is not unusual with other detectors).
Versatile - You can use the Sleuth FID for detecting and locating leaks in gas distribution on systems and for monitoring low levels of biogenerated gases, for example from landfill sites. A wide range of probes and sampling systems help you to test for gases under different conditions.
Data Collection Storage and Analysis - The data handling package is not just a data logger but a complete system incorporating logging on demand, traditional data logging and custom program design with communication links to PCs. When used with the Sleuth FID the data logger has precise measurements and can be recorded at known coordinates on sweep surveys or it can remotely gather data at pre programmed intervals. With both legislative and public pressure on organizations to assess and monitor environmental changes, it allows the user to records, store, process and analyse data effectively.
Probes for Sleuth FID
- Standard probe - for rapid surveys
- Straight probe - ideal for highlighting leaks in confined spaces, for example bore holes
- Roller probe - avoids sample dilution in windy conditions
- Probe cup - used in conjunction with the straight probe to seal areas
