Monoxor II & III Carbon Monoxide Analyzer from Bacharach Inc.
Bacharach's Monoxor CO Analyzers is a hand held instrument designed to locate CO in ambient air as well a stack gases. The continuous sampling instrument quickly and accurately measures levels of CO between 0-2,000 ppm. The Monoxor II & III have a stainless steel probe with five feet of tubing to sample CO found in flue gases of residential furnaces, combustion appliances, commercial and industrial boilers. The Monoxor II is also available in a high range version (0-80,000 ppm) for vehicle emission testing and forklift tuning.
The Monoxor III has the same features as the II but with printing capabilities. You can download your test results to an optional wireless IrDA printer.
With the addition of the Breath Analysis Module (BAM) to the Monoxor II, it becomes a powerful tool in determining the presence and level of CO in the bloodstream.
Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a silent killer. Even in low concentrations, long term exposure can be harmful because CO holds on to the hemoglobin 200 times greater than oxygen. Tissues with the highest oxygen needs are most effected by CO including the brain, heart and other large muscles.
A toxic level of CO can remain in the blood for hours after exposure even though CO in the environment has dropped to acceptable levels. The Breath Analysis Module (BAM) interfaces to the Monoxor II and allows you to quickly and easily measure CO in breath levels. The Monoxor II BAM is a powerful tool in determining the presence and level of CO in the bloodstream, also known as carboxyhemoglobin.
To use the Monoxor II BAM simply attach the module to a Monoxor II. Have a person inflate the balloon through the mouthpiece. Allow a brief period of time for the sample to be analyzed then read the ppm CO from the display. The chart will convert ppm CO to % COHb.
The table shown is used to quickly and easily determine the correlation between breath CO and carboxyhemoglobin. The Monoxor II Breath Analyzer Module, in conjunction with the Monoxor II gives first responders a complete CO analysis, from people to sources.
